Last week, I went back to my hometown of Cincinnati to help my parents go through the basement of the house where I grew up; the house they have lived in for the past 47 years. Most of the trip was dedicated to looking through family “treasures” (as my mom is calling these boxed-up, nearly forgotten, priceless gems), but I also made time to catch up with friends I hadn’t seen in years.

I met my friend Chris downtown at his bar Queen City Radio (shout out!), which didn’t exist last time I was in Ohio. He took an empty car radio installation garage and turned it into a cornerstone of the Over the Rhine neighborhood. I’m so proud of who he is and what he’s done throughout the city. Cincinnati had always been the town I couldn’t leave quick enough. But now, as I’ve grown to appreciate it and see it from a new perspective, I’m excited by its potential. My feelings remind me of the quote, “Change the way you look at things and the things you look at change.” Wise words to remember in all life circumstances.

After a few free drinks on the big boss man’s tab and a tour of the bar, we went back to his place – another historic building he’s renovated in OTR. As we caught up, I told him about life aboard Lilypad and my pirate of a partner, Tache. He says, “Tache like Tash?” I had no clue who he was talking about… so he introduced me to Tash. And now, I introduce Tash to you.

Tash Sultana is an Australian artist described as a “one-person band” who has mastered over 12 instruments. And is incredible at looping! Apparently Tash started filming music sessions using a GoPro and uploading the videos to YouTube. I highly encourage you all to find Tash on YouTube or Spotify, but for now, I will share the video Chris showed me that got me hooked. Enjoy the view!
